Why 1.96× instead of 2×?
The 2% trim is the entire house edge mechanism. Mathematically: a fair coin flip would pay 2× to break even. We trim to 1.96× — that 2% is how we stay solvent.
Is the coin flip provably fair?
Yes. The flip result is the lowest bit of SHA-256(server_seed:client_seed:nonce). Server seed is committed before each flip, revealed on rotation. Anyone can re-derive any flip outcome.
